Government allocates Rs. 4 billion to distribute one lac laptops among students in academic year 2016-17
The news comes in front along with the
announcement of provincial budget 2016. Punjab Finance Minister, Dr. Ayesha
Ghous Pasha, presented the annual budget which has a disbursement of Rs.
1681.41 billion during the Punjab Assembly session held this Monday.
The total budget
has been divided into different categories out of which Rs. 20 billion has been
given for the agriculture sector, Rs. 1,584 million for social welfare while
Rs. 7.5 billion for industrial development.
The government of Punjab is also
allocating Rs. 46.86 billion for the betterment of higher education sector in
the country.
